RB20DET-Step 1 Removed

Pulled the RB20 front it's clip today. Not bad took about 4-1/2 hours. Basically unhooked/unplugged everything between the chassis and engine, undid the suspension and dropped the whole crossmember with engine trans out the bottom. It looks like......well a used engine. Still in the process of removing the nest of harness from the dash because I want to use the R32 cluster. Coming soon Turbo Upgrade, polishing/powdercoating, and a new Timing Belt, Tensioner Pulley, Thermostat, Water Pump, Clutch(if needed-felt good before pulled), and Valve cover gaskets. Damn there goes another $G

Stay tuned.....

I'm an importer actually so that has to be classified information. More than most think we pay for them tho.

Still waiting for parts.....the EMS slave boat is about 1/2 way here with the Timing Belt, Tensioner and Pulley. In the meantime I'm going to remove the turbo and port it. It's visably larger than the SR20DET redtop turbo so I'm going to stay with it for now.

Closer inspection of the turbo shows a tiny exhaust side, so it's going for a T3/T4 Hybrid. Got the intercooler today a nice front mount from reddogmotorsports on ebay. It's a 21x9x3 Core and is pretty beefy. Thanks the typhoon that Japan had our order got pushed back 10 days, so the bad news is the clips will be late but good news is I can at least finish my swap, so look for more post's with actual progress soon...
