newbie questions
i just got a 93 240 with an sr20det, had a few questions.....
1. does it use the same oil filter as the SE-R?
2. how much oil does it get? i would imagine it would be more since its a turbo...
3. is 10psi ok to run on a stock setup, with no exhaust?
4. can a universal BOV be used with a stock setup, or would i need a kit?
5. will ka24 exhaust work on a sr20?
6. anyone got a exhaust for sale?
thanks!

1. Im not totally sure, but i believe you can.
2.3 1/4 quarts - 3 1/2 quarts
3. With stock exhaust...i wouldnt recommend it. You should have at least 2.5 piping.
4.You need the right flange and i belive anything will work...
5.yes
6.not that i know of..

The filters they use do not met the specs of what the engine designer asked, they arent up theyre like ac delco and k&n. I have personally opened 3 different brand filters for the same engine. k&n and ac delco are both great filters. On the other hand..fram doesnt even look close to as k&n or delco, they look totally different. A cheaper material..not as much filtration as the others. They seem to be cheaply made and have a lil thinner of a outer sheel, but that isnt very big of a deal. Also, my professor for My auto class was running fram filters for awhile..after a few hundred miles they always blew. Then he ran ac delco filter..didnt blow at all.
Im not trying bad mouth fram at all (well kinda sorta) but they ARE the number one oil filter company in the US...i dunno about the world. Mostly because they are always the cheapest. And thats basically what my thing with fram is.

With intake and exhaust you really have no choice but to run 10psi, in all swapped cars I've seen, with those basic mods they have all been at 10psi running off the wastegate. If the 91 se-r oil filter will work then all of the SR's from 91-01 will work, they are all the same. If you wanted a cheaper than K&N oil filter I would recommend either factory nissan or Bosch, thats all I have ever used, I couldn't explain why they are good, it was just always recommended to me and has worked well. I ran 15psi for about 3 months on my stock RB sidemount, which I believe is a little bit bigger than the SR but it should still be just fine to run 10psi on the stock IC.
