New guy with a fresh sr20det swap

Hello all Just got my 240sx se auto swapped to a sr20det engine also auto tranny. Problem is that it sometimes stalls and turns off, also sometimes the rpm needle jumps around, like if I am making a turn and hit the breaks the rpm needle jumps (not too much) and drops to a point where it goes really low or cuts off. Talk to the mechanic who did the swap and he said it was jumping because it was "down shifting" ...that's was problem #1.
Problem #2 is off the line, if I floor it ..it seems like the turbo is taking forever to spool and the car is so damn slow. It is a stock turbo stock intercooler ect. Once it gets past 1st gear.. lets say aroud 40 mph it seems fine. Any ideas? I am taking it back to the mechanic tomorrow but wanted to get some opinions.

will check it out.. I will get a boost guage install it and report the damage. As far as boost guage install should I do it at the fpr or at the wastegate? I also have a vw 1.8t and I tapped into the fpr. The mechanic that I talk to does it at the wastegate.

Install the boost gauge inline with the fpr vaccuum line.

Verdict...Levi SPL S14 was on the tee...The mechanics just re-did the piping and it resolved the issue, so it must have been a boost leak somewhere. Boost guage will be installed on the FPR pics of the car will be up soon.
