The CA18DET... is it worth it ?
i was wondering about the CA18DET for my 1991 Nissan 240sx. is it relaible ? is it worth the swap or should i just pay more and get an SR ? how much should one cost? any suggestions ?

Depends how much it is. If you can get the CA18 cheaper than an RB20, then yes it is worth it. The RB20 can rev just as high or close to as high as a stock CA (how high do they rev...like 8K). Plus you get more stock HP, a better (they both suck right now in the US) market for parts and the RB20 swap is just as straightforward as the CA18 and SR20 swap. Just have to change the xmember if you use the stock RB mounts which isnt terribly hard. All things equal I want the most bang for my hard earned buck and the CA18 is at the bottom of the barrel. Some people choose the CA18 for other reason...like a high revving motor or cheapeness (not anymore heh)

RB20 is very easy to find. They are plentiful so to speak. MOst are old though. The HCR32 was last made in 1994 I beleive and I dont trhink the RB20 came in the R33....I could be mistaken though

Yes that is the "silvertop" and the Z31 is the 300zx 84-89??? NOt sure. I know the Z32 in the US is 1990-1996 but they got the Z32 over in Jpan until like 99, so I am not 100% on the years but I know the last Z31 chassis in the US was 89
