Question auto or no auto

after about 2 weeks of research i have decided to go with a rb25det/S13 project. i started to look for 240s on the weekend

i need to know if i need a 5speed or will an auto do just fine?
(mounting points for the engine/trans)

ps, if anyone knows of a 240 selling CHEAP in the toronto area let me know.

thanks.

i think you could find a 240sx on cars.com or autotrader.com
i personally think getting a 5speed is better but u getting a engine swap anyways i guess dun matter if your rb engine comes with tranny

Good luck with the RB.

What made you want it?

There are some inside jokes above so you might not catch them all.

Have you driven a 240sx?

What kind of car are you building? Drift? Show? AutoX? Track? Illegal highway/drag racer? Model? (no offense)

thanks for the tip duke. i will look into it.

well stanbo, no offence taken. i have been looking to build an aggessive street(1st)/track(2nd) car for a liittle while now. my intention was to get a 944turbo, but it was a little to pricey for me. meaning i could do it, but could not do anything else like eat lol. so i decided to look in to other cars and settled on the 240 for the reasons.........

i like the car

parts are everywhere

nissan makes strong cars

the swaps availible are what put it over the top

i had driven one a few years ago and i amost bought it, but decided to buy a motocycle instead. the car impressed me even though it was under powered. it felt a bit bulkier than the ae86 i had before that. But it also felt more solid. i have a budget of 20k CAN(incl. the car) and i KNOW i can build a a very fast, good handleing 240 for that money.

thanks for your intrest.
this is a nice forum

Coolness. I am glad I didn't scratch you the wrong way.

The only other advice I can give is grow with the car but then again you can already have the skill to handle a race prepped car.

I would get it. When you do the swap it will most likely come with a 5 speed anyway.

So I guess adding a clutch pedal isn't a big deal. I guess that and the driveshaft will be another item to get.
