Saturday, April 17th (Central Florida)
There will be a drift event coming up. Here's the details for anyone who'd be interested in coming to watch.
If you do come, bring sun block. It's getting hotter, and the sun is starting to cook. Lawn chairs, coolers, shades, and a small tent/canopy is a good idea too if you want to stay even more comfortable as you spectate.
What: Drifting (open skid pad)
When: Saturday, April 17th 9 AM to 2 PM
Where: Central Florida's Racing Complex. The address is 201 Parcel Ln Orlando, FL
$10 bucks to spectate for the entire day. You will get a wrist band.
If anyone from this forum is interested in coming to watch, let me know as I'll be there.
Here's a video from a previous event:
YouTube - CFRC Drift Event (March 2010)
If your interested in driving the event, it's $40 dollars for the whole day. You must wear a helmet and follow these rules ...
1) No donuts
2) No burnouts
3) No tires with wire showing; they damage the new asphalt
4) 1.5 minutes into your run you'll see a yellow flag; time to get off the pad
5) 2 minutes into your run you'll see a red flag; out of time and no run the next session
6) Drive only on the pavement. No "dirt turbo" at CFRC!
7) Two run groups.
8) No leaking fluids
9) Bumpers [if attached] secure
10) Exhaust secure
11) Battery secure
12) Functioning seat belt/harness
13) Hood & trunk latch
14) Snell certified helmet (both driver & pass)
15) No loose items in cabin or trunk
The rules are to keep the event running smoothly, and prevent any damage to the track. With a couple of rules we'll be able to enjoy drifting at CFRC for a long time!
For tires, see Alltec Motorsports on OBT, at the corner on Central Florida Parkway where you turn to come to the track. 2,000 used tires for sale, and they'll mount your tires if you bring them in. 407-850-6064, 11009 S. OBT. 9-5 Saturday.
