speaker mounting depth!!

Hi guys, i have a 98 240sx and want to change my front speakers. I looked and searched all over google and couldn't find the mounting depth on a s14. Does anyone know the maximum moutning depth that fits in a s14?

Or naming speakers that fit in your cars can help too, since i can just look up the mounting depth on those. Please help!

It only takes like 5 screws to take the door panel off so you can measure it. IIRC you got a good 3" or so because the speaker mounts to a huge plastic ring that positions the speaker farther from the door surface.

hmm that makes quite a difference... My first two choices won't fit then... the JL XR component set and the Infinity Perfect 6.1 component set...

I think I'm going with the JL VR component set... any other suggestions?

you should be able to use a 1/2" spacer ring with most components and have no interference problems.
