I am trying to install a JVC CD Player in my 95 240sx. The previous owner of my car had all the wires rigged and coming from everywhere. All of the wires from the JVC CD Player match the car wires except the orange illumination cable coming from the CD Player. Where do I connect it too? What color should the illumination wire coming from the car be? Does the car even have one? Anybody have any idea?

 

the illumination wire is not needed... when you turn on the lights it will dim your radio just like the stock unit... there is no need for it...

 

If I'm not mistaken, if you want the illumination feature to work, you can connect that wire to, say, the + wire for the cigarette lighter light. I don't know why you'd want to dim it at night though - when it's easier to use the brighter the light is
