alpine problems

I just installed an alpine cdm-7861 into my 93 240 (kinda old stereo)
i had to cut the stock plugs off of the harness. and wire them directly to the alpine harness.
anyway, ever since i put it in, when i turn my ignition off it resets my clock, also i normally take my key out then get out of my car, i cant do that no because my seatbelt wont retract unless the igntion is on. also you know when your playing a cd and you turn your car off how you turn the ignition back on and it picks up from where it left off, i have to completely turn the cd player back on to hear music again.

IDEAS?????

thanks a lot for help!

Didnt think of that off the top of my head, but that WOULD... no wait. It wouldnt explain the fact that the 12v switched positive (ignition switched) would still operate...

When I was trying to weed out my wiring mess, there was a fuse I blew that controls the accessories when the ignition is off. My seatbelts worked all weird and my clock kept resetting. Theres a fuse that keeps the clock and 12v hots hot when the key is out, at least that what I could make of it.

yes, and the chimes don't work either. blown fuse. this happened to me, but the cd player didn't even turn on for me so maybe it isn't a fuse...

damn s13s and their electrical gremlins! Thats why I ran an entire new harness for my stereo... Using larger wires for better conduction

for s13's, this is the best advice i ever got. step 1: drive to autozone step 2: buy a full pack of "Glow-when-they-Blow" fuses. step 3: replace ALL fuses. -now when i blow a fuse, i look in the fuse panel, pull out the glowing fuse (they glow when they blow, remember, and replace with new one. -it may sound stupid but its a life-saver for s13's, because when you look for a blown fuse, its always the last one you pull out thats blown.

Make sure you wire the yellow wire from radio harness to red/black from the car side, and red from the radio harness to blu from the car side and your radio will hold memory.
