ahhhh alarm woes!!!
ok well here goes the big story and i would realllly appreciate it if someone could respond quickly CUZ MY BABY IS DEAD
a lil background info 1995 240sx i dont think its an SE it doesnt have the SE symbol on the back so i dont kno if this is a stock alarm or not...came WITHOUT a keypad for the alarm and i never saw the alarm on so i assumed it was dead or the guy took it out
...well i decided to replace my receiver today...so i took the battery lead off as to not fry anything...got all my wiring done and wat not
THEN went to put the lead back on and BERRR BERR WOOOO WEWWWW the alarm goes off i freaked out... so i took it off then i called my uncle who told me about the valet switch, first i took the alarm wire off the battery then just connected it w/ some wire so i could easily rip it off if i needed to and i disconnected the horn noismaker thing...so then i try flipping the vallet switch and turning the key and turning the key and flipping the vallet switch etc...tried locking the doors...but to my dismay now the doors wont lock by the switch the light flashes until i pass acc and its one before it should crank...then its like the battery shuts off
any ideas???? plzzzzzzz need ur godly wisdom...this is a horrible day

this happened to me. reconnect the alram to the battery contact. you have to keep touching it to the battery. eventually it will override itself. the same thing happend to my dads truck to. i have got this to work on 2 cars now. i know it seems stupid but it works.

you will make the connection and the alarm wont go off....thats when you know that it worked. so i would reconnect the horn, but put a rag or even some sox all balled up inside the horn so its not loud at all. my dad put a rag in his then taped the front of it to make sure they dont fall out. see his doors locked and unlocked when we hit the lead and the battery connector together. thats the other way we knew when hes was ok.

find out what company its for and look them up. if you can verify the vin and some other info they might be able to give you a key fob for that set up. the one i have makes a ne code for it self everytime i lock and unlock it. but i would have to do is call viper and say hey. hook me up. you might even be able to take it to a nissan stealership, even though its not a nissan thing, they mgiht help ya

arg and so new problems arise!!!!...so i wen to start my car the other day and the alarm stopped it from cranking...so i started messing w/ it again and eventually got tired so i just cut it from the ignition wire and put the wire back together
...now the alarm is still active and all the sudden likes to go off when i open my doors like an alarm should and it wont go back into valet mode...it only goes back until i shut the doors then it gets ready to arm itself...theres probably about a few minute arming time in which i can open the doors and wat not without it going off
should i just rip the sucker out? or take it to a freeman's alarms or something?
im also a bit erked about ripping it out myself cuz im not the most car inclined yet so id be worried about cutting the wrong wires off and wat not

If your not sure about how to do it yourself, and maybe want a decent alarm system put in, take it somewhere, and if they install your new one, they usually don't charge much to take the old one out since they have to use the same wires anyways. just call around and get some price quotes.

if it's a DEI alarm (ie) viper, rattler, etc.....(look for the model number and manufacture on the brain.) then this is how you disarm the alarm:
1. hold down the valet button (DON'T RELEASE UNTIL I TELL YOU TO)
2. put key in ignition and turn all the way up, but don't crank.
3. turn off ignition and pull key out.
4. now RELEASE VALET BUTTON.
this will put the alarm into valet mode. which means that the alarm is no longer an alarm, but simply a keyless entry system. even if the alarm was set for autoarm, when it is in this mode, it will NEVER rearm.
btw, when the alarm system is in this mode, the alarm LED will stay solid on.
also, i suggest just disconnecting the ground wire that is leading to your siren while troubleshooting. this will shut off the siren, but the rest of the alarm will still be undisturbed. once you find the model number and manufacture, just go online and find out if you can get a compatible remote.

is the shock sensor the brain?...if so then its an audiovox alarm if that helps any one
so far ive taken off 2 relays that go to the alarm and the power out to the shock sensor the only "alarm" component that is going off is the car horn...should take the horn fuse out? if so does any one know which that is?
ill try to get a pic of the wiring for you guys if thatll help...sorry to be so bothersome
edit: also thinking of just gettin rid of the alarm and putting in a fuel cut switch...how easy is this to do? im very anti-alarm system right now -_-

ive returned with images!...well i think i found the brain so i disconnected it and the car horn no longer goes off...the car drives shifts the whole mile
the car had a high idle when i started it and it smelled like it was running rich...im hoping thats just cuz of the cold
and on the supposed brain theres a thing wire and im not sure exactly wat it is b/c it goes to the front of the car and into the firewall so i cant tell but heres the images tell me wat u think

that's the brain in the second picture...but i'm not sure what the state of your alarm is:
here's the link to audiovox website:
http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/s...ductId=&brand=
i'm not sure what disconnecting the brain will do, if you have ignition kill. but it seems that your alarm system is now pretty far from being operational. i would suggest that you just completely remove your alarm system......or just fork over the cash and goto circuity city or something similar. a new remote is actually only about $20. again, i would find the MODEL number off of the brain and check audiovox's website. goodluck
